A platform for liquid collaboration
Brewstarter is operated by a licensed New Zealand brewery. It lets anyone with an idea and a crowd propose an original drink - and produce it only when enough people commit to buy.
Your idea. Your crowd. We make the drink.
Brewstarter turns beverage creation into a collaborative act. Instead of putting a custom label on an existing product, we give proposers access to genuine brewery capability - recipe development, fermentation, packaging and licensed sale.
Subject to technical, legal and commercial feasibility, proposals can include beer, cider, hard tea, sparkling fruit drinks, smoothie sours, lower-alcohol drinks, low-carb drinks and alcohol-free products.

Sunshine Brewery & Three Sisters Brewery

Sunshine Brewery
A licensed New Zealand brewery providing the craft production capability behind Brewstarter. Sunshine Brewery contributes brewhouse capacity, quality control and the off-licence that underpins every sale.
Their role is to turn reviewed, funded proposals into real, packaged drinks - brewed to a professional standard and made ready for delivery to your crowd.

Three Sisters Brewery
A licensed New Zealand brewery contributing recipe development and fermentation expertise. Three Sisters Brewery adds flexibility and depth across the range of beverage styles Brewstarter supports.
Together, the two breweries give Brewstarter the capacity and craft to take an idea from concept to a finished can, keg or bottle.
Responsible by design
Every sale is made under a NZ off-licence. We verify age, refuse service where required, and only produce funded drinks.
Real craft
Not relabelling. Genuine recipe development and production across a wide range of beverage styles.
Crowd-powered
Drinks only get made when enough people commit - reducing waste and proving demand before production.
Where Brewstarter can go next
Brewstarter begins with the capabilities of Sunshine Brewery and Three Sisters Brewery, but the idea is larger than any one production site. As more people propose drinks and successful campaigns fill available capacity, Brewstarter can connect those projects with a wider network of trusted independent producers.
Over time, this could allow a proposer to bring almost any viable drink idea to the platform, while Brewstarter identifies the producer, equipment and expertise best suited to making it.
The aim is not simply to sell more existing beverages. It is to create an accessible pathway through which a good idea, a credible crowd and the right producer can come together.
